TheFACEShop Smile Foot Peeling Mask Review

2:53 pm

There has been so much talk about Korean foot peeling masks, and at first when I heard about them, I have to admit I was totally freaked out over the thought of my feet shedding for weeks! Reading other reviews about this exact product, it seemed to have worked for everyone who tried it, so I thought I'd give it a try since TheFACEShop in Canada (around my area at least) just started selling them.

This kit retails for $14 CAD, and inside you get two plastic socks as well as two packets of Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA). You're supposed to put on the socks, and carefully pour in the contents of the packages. Be careful to not get it on anywhere else because I did this with my friend and she got some of the acid on her chest and although it is safe for your skin, she did say it stung a little, just a warning ! After pouring in the contents, you soak your feet in the socks for 60-90 minutes and rinse. After 4-6 days, they claim that your feet should start peeling will continue to peel for the next couple of weeks.

Starting off, my feet weren't terrible, but I did have slight callouses, and a few rough spots. So we did the mask, and we waited 4-6 days, and sadly neither of us saw any peeling happening. My feet were..flaky? I'm not sure if that's what I'd call it, but it was a little rougher around the sides of my feet. On day 7 after doing the mask, in the midst of a relaxing hot bath, I realised that my feet were peeling !! All around the ball of my foot, and my toes, which is where most of my problem spots are. But to my disappointment, about an hour after my bath, my feet dried up and the patches that started to peel, dried into rough patches that once again became flaky. Two weeks have passed, and my feet do feel very smooth, but over all I wasn't amazed by this product. My friend however, experienced no peeling at all ! In conclusion, I feel like I'd much rather pay double the price of this mask for a pedicure that won't be over an hour long process, I get instant results, my toes painted and a foot massage ! It's a fun idea, but it didn't do incredible things for my feet like I expected to, so I'd give it a 5/10.
